• The Hot Shot Tap Dancers – The four tap-dancing siblings seemed more in sync last night than they did last week in the Vegas round. Overall, it was a strong performance. But judge Piers Morgan said he’d like to see “more fireworks” from them next time.

• Paul Safy Jr. – The bearded waiter from Buffalo, N.Y. who sounds like a young Tony Bennett did exactly what he does best – sounding like a young Tony Bennett. He has a smooth voice and is confident on stage. It was a good performance, but not as exciting as some of the other acts. As judge Sharon Osbourne pointed out, it felt a bit dated and cheesy.

I adore it that this show creates the contestants hang out together in a red-painted broom closet although they jump and down and pretend to like popcorn. Hilarious.
